Fashionable footwear: autumn 2007 (Part 2)

October 15th, 2007

However designers vigorously do not recommend us to give way to a black melancholy. Also support the offer with rather unexpected fashionable finds.

Among them, for example, shoes and boots in very light color spectrum, and invented the most romantic shades.
So Vicini offers high-heeled footwear of the most gentle pastel-pink shade which designers define as color of a morning fog.

Furla uses for footwear crocodile-like leather of completely unnatural painting – light pearly-grey with pearl play, and Chanel adds to this palette a metallized covering after an antique silver and bronze.
And there are some things from must have category – dye of autumn footwear in style when dark shades of one tone smoothly turn into more light ones. Remarkable footwear with such dye offers Prada and Laura Bellariva.

By the way, at such approach boots turn from the footwear intended for rainy weather and overcoming of puddles into elegant evening footwear. Casadei’s footwear will be even more elegant – thin stiletto heeled boots from creamy-beige suede.
Suede and varnish are altogether hits of shoe fashion this autumn, though it would seem, neither of them suit slushy weather.
However all this can be viewed as an echoes of the common designers’ passion for retro-tendencies of the recent periods.

Fashionable footwear: autumn 2007 (Part 1)

October 12th, 2007

Our legs for hot summer time have got used to freedom and open space, but colds have come and its time now to choose autumn footwear! It seems that we can do without boots this autumn.

Actually they are only narrow boots with moderately sharp toe.

Or rather, it something medium between traditional half boots, and usual demi-season boots in man’s style which were included in the wardrobe by liberated women of second half of the XX century.

This season they have quite classical form. Boots are offered to us mainly low (maximum up to an ankle), on high (or very high) heel of the steady form.

Stylistic difference at that is not present. Everything is rather moderate and traditional. Unless appear (for example, at Fendi) aggressive models in punk-rock style from a black leather with metal rivets and even thorns. But it is more likely an exception.

Models should get medical certificates

October 11th, 2007

In the nearest future models should get doctor’s certificate from the doctors specializing on food disorders to receive the permit to participate in fashion shows.

According to the statement of the Great Britain’s Fashion Designers Council, models will be once and for all forbidden to smoke and will have be tested for drugs. Models under 16 years will not appear on podium at all. Designers and the photographers working with models will be checked by the Bureau of crimes registration. During fashion shows and photosessions designers will be obliged to give models healthy and nutritious meal.

The contradictory for the British designers was the decision to introduce certain restrictions on weight of the models, as that is already done in Milan and Madrid. Designers consider that this restriction is not fair in relation to those models, whose weight is low by nature.

Trend of a season: Knitted things (Part 2)

October 10th, 2007

In general an idea of knitted coats – whether artificially deformed or slim line and glamour – is as never vital in the autumn season. Many designers offer to refuse from traditional trench coats and leather jackets. Knitted coats give much more charm, in particular in combination with light chintz and silk evening dresses. Moreover, they have one very important advantage: large stitch warms a body and sometimes the owner doesn’t need additional accessories even at zero temperature.

Images from the childhood are very popular this season – polar bears, penguins, lambs and deer – are all recollected in new collections from Stella McCartney and Chanel, who placed cheerful animals on knitted scarves and sweaters with wide neck. Youth brands have also used animals in their creations – irreplaceable in frosty days components of a wardrobe dazzle with various colors and figures in show-windows of H&M, Zara and Benetton. Designers from GAP have also taken care of the buyers, having offered them embroidered with the bear heads cozy roll-neck sweaters with a flannelette lining and dense leggings, decorated with elk’s muzzles. Christmas sweaters with deer in red-white color spectrum has also offered American retailer American Eagle Outfitters.

Trend of a season: Knitted things (Part 1)

October 9th, 2007

With the first autumn colds we dream about lovely country cottage, fireplace, cozy armchair, favorite book and a cup of strong tea and certainly, any soft thing. This autumn season warm plaid is replaced by cardigans, jackets and a sweater on large stitches.

Each woman of fashion should get in the current season at least one knitted thing. However not to waste money, but fallow the last tendencies, it is enough to fill up a wardrobe with one huge sweater or cardigan, the big and long scarf and a knitted full-length dress. Excellent variants are offered in the autumn collection from Giles – British fashion designer Giles Dikon was not frightened of shocking effect and led out on a podium models wrapped up in cardigans-plaids of maximum large knitting of olive and grey colors. Having added their image with massive scarves with pompons, he has created precise feeling of coziness in an icy cold. Huge scarves should be tied nevertheless atop of narrow leather or woolen dresses, fashionable this autumn roll-neck sweaters or even silk tops or evening dresses. They have sufficient width to warm you at the crucial moment.

More elegant knitted models of sweaters and dresses, not so strongly hiding female figure, can be met in collections of Italian fashion designer Alessandro Dell’Acqua (simple grey slim line cardigans and V-shaped sweaters), Calvin Klein (Italian Francisco Kosta has decorated black straight lines of sweaters with large plaits). Actually it is enough to look attentively – and you will find at least one knitted thing almost in each collection. Fashionable trend of the season has touched also evening dresses: gentle waistcoats of thin stitch decorate chiffon blouses from Carolina Herrera and knitted scarves are winded atop silk multilayered dresses from Vivienne Westwood.

Generous autumn in shades of red (Part 3)

October 8th, 2007

But there are more raincoats and coats of the traditional straight silhouettes close to classical trench coats or coats in man’s style: such were created by Marc Jacobs, Miu Miu, Gucci, and Valentino. Their length is essentially lower than a knee, V-shaped cut with acute-angled collarets, straight sleeves on all length.

This is a strict business silhouette which is not softened by bright scarlet painting and ideally suits business woman. Such coats are perfectly combined with actual nowadays hats, long leather gloves and small handbags of the strict form. And it is desirable, that gloves, bags and, probably, footwear were of black or dark grey shades.

Versace Fashion House, marked this season by predilection for furs of utterly acid shades, has not forgotten and about fur coats from long- fleecy fur, dyed in a scarlet color. Italian duet D&G has also used this color to dye short jackets from long-fleecy furs.

In a result it appeared, that today’s scarlet is well blended with general orientation of the autumn fashion season on respectability and quiet elegance. Moreover, it emphasizes the nobleness of the chosen image.

The only exception is collection from Y-3 where red quite harmoniously fitted in offered sports style.

Generous autumn in shades of red (Part 2)

October 5th, 2007

Classical evening dresses of red color, as usual, can be seen in a collection from Valentino. But there is also some unexpectedness – daily dresses in the same color spectrum.

Other variant of bright daily commonness are offered in the current fashionable season quite business on a cut and silhouette suits from red fabrics. Blumarine, Celine, Diane-von-Furstenberg, Valentino, Paul-Smith offer such suits from a wool, dense cotton or mixed fabrics with a brilliant satiny covering. And Pucci has offered a trouser suit.

Separate clause are raincoats and coats in blood-red scale which cause, however, not horror, but delight. This, by the way, can be viewed as a novelty of the current season. In fact we have already got used to “nonspottable” pragmatic autumn, and suddenly here is such bright stain which will by all means draw general attention to you in gloomy cloudy street.

So, the coats and raincoats even in this color can be rather different and consequently will suit anyone who wants to make such a choice. For example, Scandinavian duet Viktor&Rolf offers rather romantic raincoat in А-shaped silhouette slightly flared from top to the bottom with a small collaret, decorative metal buttons, and a silvery embroidery as translucent snowflakes.

Generous autumn in shades of red (Part 1)

October 4th, 2007

Unlike many other fashion seasons, this autumn has rather definite color spectrum which can be characterized, however, as restrained. If creating the last summer collections, designers toss about all spectrum and have frankly hung-up on black and brown the last winter, the autumn-winter/2007-2008 has obvious differences from both seasons.

The main colors this time are grey and black («new black», playing by numerous shades due to the most unusual textures of materials). However it is impossible to tell, that other colors are completely deleted from the designers’ arsenal.

Among bright touches, present in the palette this autumn, there are citreous, dark blue, fuchsia and, certainly, red. And the main burden has lain on red, because it should soften base colors and to make an autumn podium not sad, but really elegant.

This idea has so carried away some designers, that influence of red can be seen almost on all their collections. Among those, let’s say, the Miu Miu Fashion House: it has things of completely pure scarlet color, and things with only some red details and hardly perceptible shades of brown or violet.

In general, red is more common for us in clothes for special occasions. Even psychologically we perceive this color as festive one. It is also an aggressive color, associated with the heightened sexuality.

Red color will be patented!

October 2nd, 2007

Whose spike heels we will recognize from thousand others, even from a distance in hundred meters? Only Christian Louboutin!

The sole of these shoes is painted in red color. Recently it became known, that legendary shoes-maker has to file a request with the USA and the Great Britain authorities to receive guarantees that none other brand dares to produce footwear with a red sole. Such initiative has arisen after proceeding of Christian Louboutin with New York based DEER.

Christian has painted a sole of the shoes by red nail polish in fun, but this joke became in due course distinctive feature of the brand. And it also inspires others – well-known British manicure-master Soui Pokok offers to the clients to cover the inner side of a nail with red enamel. Naturally, this kind of manicure has received name Christian Louboutin.
