It is not already the secret, that the main tendency of the current season is restraint. And, restraint in everything: the simple moderate cut, the muted color palette with prevalence of white, black and grey. But, as usually, when the matter is about evening dresses designers have made some indulgence. It is enough to look at last collections from Giorgio Armani, Oscar de la Renta or Christian Dior.

Black-and-white classics
The classical combination of «black top, a white bottom» is again in fashion. Nevertheless, strict appearance can always be diversified with bright accessories.

Mohair
You won’t become frozen this winter. One of the most fashionable materials of the season is mohair, which is used not only in sweaters. Dresses, skirts, hats: the main problem is to choose.

Wide belts
Wide belt is present everywhere this season. It is offered to be worn over a dress, a sweater or a coat. The most fashionable trend is a belt-corset.

High gloves

Purple

The fashion, as well as the history, spires, and almost always something new is very well forgotten old, therefore in searches of fresh ideas designers quite often look at old collections. This year has not done without retro style – 40s set the fashion in autumn-winter collections 2007/2008. 

Apparently, even designers have already satiated with pretentiousness and diversity peculiar to the previous seasons, and have decided to recollect feminity, elegance and… modesty. Skirt up to a knee, a shoe-pumps and high gloves are again in fashion. Most fashionable colors this season are grey, black, red accents, turkish azure, green olive, purple.  

Short coats
Coats are obvious favorite of the season - in the military style, skintight or of the А-shaped form. The most fashionable length - up to a knee or shorter. The main tendencies - the short sleeve, absence of a collar and a wide belt.
