Dress-code: is specified beforehand

November 20th, 2007

In most western companies all depends on a situation. For the meeting with clients or negotiations with any company a tie and a jacket are obligatory. In other cases – usual style, that is a shirt and trousers. The shirt (or T-shirt) can be with a name of the company, and trousers can be a la jeans or jeans. Many people constantly wear jeans and sneaks. Managers are usually dressed more strictly. Friday, as a rule, is a special day for everybody, so-called jeans day: everyone who wants, put on T-shirts, jeans, sneaks.

However even in California it is not recommended (and it is determined by etiquette rules) to wear training (sports) trousers, shorts and slippers. Often in invitations to meetings, conferences, dinners, etc. dress-code is pointed – for example, “casual” or “black tie”.

Certainly, such nuances should be stipulated in the contract – whether the person agrees to be constantly in a dark blue tie from Dior, bought for his own money. And if the expert on computers maintenance needs overalls, it, as a rule, is paid by the company.
